How does it work?

A Walking Bus usually has about 15-20 children with 6-10 parents helping at different times. They're really easy to set up:

  • First contact Kia for an information pack (see 'how can I find out more?')
  • Next, ask your kids if they'd like to walk to school with their friends.
  • Talk to other parents and see how many passengers you can get on your bus.
  • Then have a chat with your school and ask them to speak to the council
  • The council should be able to provide a road safety officer to help with planning a route and training.
  • Get back in touch with Kia and we will provide you with all the jackets, materials and information you need to make your Walking Bus a success!
